What is the process?
- Clear IELTS with 6. 5 in writing and 7 in remaining or OET with C+ in writing and B in remaining
- Register with us and complete your Profile
- Attend Skype or Face to Face job interview(s) and secure a job offer
- Get Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) from your employer
- Apply for Tier 2 Visa
- Book flight & arrive in the UK
- Start working!
Can I take my family with me?
Your first few months in the Isle of Man will be challenging since you will be focusing on your new living and working environment, learning new systems and procedures, and taking care of other responsibilities. Unless you already have a support system in the Isle of Man, we would not advise you to bring family members this early on. Rather, they should join you after a few months once you have settled into your new environment.
Will my children get free schooling?
We will provide you with information about schools for your children. Public schools are free of cost.
Who pays for my flight?
In most cases, your airfare to the Isle of Man will be paid for by you or your employer. You have to pay for flight expenses for your family members but grant assistance may be available to help cover this cost.
How much tax will I pay in the Isle of Man?
Income tax will be automatically taken from your monthly salary, so the amount of money you take home will be lower. Taxes in the Isle of Man are among the lowest in Europe. The maximum Income tax rate is 20% and there is no inheritance tax, no stamp duty on house purchases and no capital gains tax.
Every employee is asked to provide a Key Information Document before you accept any position which will set out all the relevant details about pay, holiday entitlement and other benefits.
As you are relocating to the Island, you can also benefit from the Insurance Holiday Scheme, which allows you to apply for a refund on your National Insurance Contributions for your 1st year of living here.
How long is my employment contract?
The positions you will be offered are mostly permanent.
Candidates are generally required to commit to their position for at least three years, which is also the visa duration.
After your contract period is over, your employer will consider extending your contract if your work has been satisfactory. You can also decide that you no longer want to work there and go somewhere else. After a period of 5 years in the Isle of Man, you will qualify for indefinite leave to remain and can obtain a British passport.
